Abstract. Prakrongrak N, Boonsoong B, Monthatong M. 2023. Genetic diversity and phylogenetic analysis of mayfly Caenis (Insecta: Ephemeroptera) using Cytochrome C Oxidase I (COI) 12s rRNA genes from Thailand. Biodiversitas 24: 1989-1997. Mayflies in genus Caenisis one the top fifth species richnessbelonged to Family Caenidae. The present study aimed use partial mitochondrial COxidase subunit nucleotide sequences for molecular identification, relationships mayflies Stephens, 1835 From a total 37 specimens, thirteen nymphs were morphologically identified into five species: nasuta Malzacher, C. Picea Kimmins, ulmeriana cornigera Kang Yang longiforcipata Malzacher. other 24 samples sp.1 sp.5. Partial COI all compared with BOLD GenBank identification. However, result showed only genus-level identification as greater than 80% similarity. For delimitation, interspecific genetic distance among these ranged 14.4 26.6% 7.36 22.4% (12s rRNA). Intraspecific divergence levels 0.0% 2.35%. ABGD both divided data 10 groups corresponding morphospecies Caenis. Caenis, also classified each well supported clusters. In addition, we report Thailand first time. trees indicate close relationship between longiforcipata, which is by their similar morphology.

Genetic Characterization of Argas persicus From Iran by Sequencing of Mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase I (COX1) and 16s rRNA Genes

Background: Argas persicus has a great importance for health and veterinary, it can transmit many infectious agents such as Borrelia anserina (avian spirochetosis) and Aegyptianella pullorum. Distinguishing Argasidae due to close morphological relationship is difficult. OBJECTIVES: In the present study, we performed molecular analyses based on PCR and sequencing of Amplicon derived from 16S rRN...

Study of genetic diversity of Dussumieria acuta (Valenciennes, 1847) in Persian Gulf and Oman sea (Coast of the Hormozgan Province) using Cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene (COI)

In this study 12 specimens were collected from Bandar Jask, Qeshm Island and Bandare Lengeh in Hormozgan Province. DNA extraction was performed using Phenol-Chloroform method. A partial DNA sequence of Cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene (COI) was used to evaluate genetic diversity. The sequence of Cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene was done using specific primers designed based on sequences regis...
